LEAD STEM EXPO
Engineer For a Day started in 2013 with around 50 students. Vincent J. , Victoria R, and Barraya H. founded engineer For a Day, Victoria R. and Barrayya H. The "Founding Three "discovered that there was a void with getting students exposed to STEM at an early age in Central Ohio. As a result, Engineer For a Day was started. The first Engineer For a Day was hosted at DeVry University. It contained four engineering workshops running for 50 minutes, showcasing Civil Engineering. Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering. Since then this event has grown to more than 160-200 students annually with registration spots filling up in as little as two weeks. Since the start of Engineer For a Day, our goal has been to inspire elementary and middle school students to become interested and excited about STEM fields through hands-on activities.
In 2018, Engineer For a Day became apart of the LEAD STEM Expo, an initiative to expose and prepare 3rd - 12th-grade students for college and STEM careers.
At the end of the day, students will be able to leave with a better understanding of STEM fields and the many career choices that one can achieve with an engineering degree.
We invite you to attend the upcoming Engineer 4-A as we "experience STEM while having fun."
